Free Agent Buzz

With no first-round pick and more cap room than usual, the team must focus on free agency to improve. The top target is offensive tackle, preferably one who can anchor the left side. Jones and Pace are the big names, but it not clear either will be available. If so they will be wildly expensive. The team wants a big-play receiver. Plaxico Burress and Jerry Porter would be nice additions but both could be headed elsewhere. T.J. Houshmandzadeh deserves consideration. The other goal is to bolster the middle of the linebacking corps and/or defensive line. MLB Kevin Lewis filled in better than many expected but the team would love a more dynamic playmaker at that spot.
